Research themes or clusters serve as a powerful organizational focus and encourage the convergence of intellectual interests and strengths of UCLA’s broad discipline base. At UCLA we have defined seven broad multidisciplinary foci on campus where we are focusing our efforts.

The mission of Strategic Research Planning is to support the development, implementation and convergence of research projects within these themes.
